How to Prepare for a Trial Class at Elev8 MMA
Trying your first martial arts or fitness class can feel exciting—and maybe a little nerve-wracking. At Elev8 MMA, we make sure your trial class is welcoming, fun, and safe. Here’s everything you need to know to get ready and make the most of your first session.
What to Wear
Comfortable workout clothes: Choose clothes that let you move freely—think shorts, leggings, or track pants with a t-shirt or rash guard.
For Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) classes: If you have a Gi (uniform) or can borrow one, then bring it along, otherwise we have loan options available. If you are new to BJJ choose the Fundamental classes for Gi. For No-Gi, wear shorts and a tight-fitting top like a rash guard. Please ensure that your shorts have no zips or buttons as they can damage the mats.
For striking classes (Muay Thai, Boxing): Hand wraps and gloves are ideal, but don’t worry if you don’t have your own—we provide gear for trial classes.
